April Sundays: Treasures from the Earth

This April let’s create hidden treasures, inspired by The Second Buddha: Master of Time—an exhibition all about revealing gems of wisdom. It is said that Padmasambhava, the Second Buddha, hid his divine teachings so they could be discovered by the right person at the right time. April is also the month of Buddha Purnima, a festival celebrating the historic Buddha Shakyamuni’s birthday, enlightenment, and death on the night of the full moon. As the full moon reveals treasures not typically seen in the night, we’ll create unique vegetable prints of the phases of the moon.

Support

Family Sundays are made possible by New York Life. Additional support has been provided by Agnes Gund, Con Edison, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
