June Sundays: Beauty in Blueprints & the Buddha’s Birthday

Visit the Rubin any Sunday in June to make elegant photograms through a cameraless photographic process inspired by our exhibition Henri Cartier-Bresson: India in Full Frame. Impress elements of nature or personal objects onto paper to for a fun and effortless print.

Celebrate the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Buddha Shakyamuni through the festival Saka Dawa. To honor the Buddha, use sacred geometry to create detailed, blueprint-like drawings of the Buddha.

Support

Family Sundays are made possible by New York Life. Additional support has been provided by Con Edison, Agnes Gund, and public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
