Cabaret Cinema

Friday, April 29, 2016
9:30 PM–10:45 PM

1945, UK, Alberto Cavalcanti, 77 min.

Alberto Cavalcanti’s 1945 horror film masterfully explores circular plots and ghost stories. Set in a house where architect Walter Craig (Mervyn Johns) suspects his worst nightmares are coming true, the film explores the nature of what lies beneath our deepest nightmares and frightening fantasies and how house parties in the country, even with the most charming of guests, can go terribly wrong. With Michael Redgrave in the memorable sequence of the ventriloquist’s dummy.
