Our Stories, Our Future

A Night of Student Art and Performance

Friday, May 25, 2018
7:00 PM–9:00 PM

How does art allow us to transcend the boundaries of past, present, and future? We want to know how you engage with time, history, and future narratives through your art! The Rubin Museum invites students and emerging artists for an evening of performance, storytelling, and time travel.

Submissions are open to all, with preference given to college and graduate students, as well as recent graduates. Registration will be open through May 13 and is required to be considered for a spot. Submissions will be viewed on a rolling basis. You will be notified about your participation by May 18.

About the MC

Christopher Lilley, a New York native, is a poet, spoken word artist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and teaching artist.

Chris has had the privilege of collaborating with Jasmine Mans and Rudy Fransisco, and has performed in notable spaces such as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and the Bowery Poetry Club, as well as other venues across the country. The recipient of a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, he seeks to fuse music and poetry to inspire community dialogues on topics that have been labeled as taboo or shameful, with a focus on bringing mental health awareness to marginalized communities.
