Kick off your Wednesday evenings at the Rubin Museum with a tour of our exhibition Genesis Breyer P-Orridge: Try to Altar Everythingled by Museum docent Linda Sweet. Visit the galleries with a free (with admission) tour, and learn more about Genesis and the connections between h/er life, music, and art. After the tour we welcome you to unwind in our cafe for Himalayan Happy Hour.

About Genesis Breyer P-Orrdige: Try to Altar Everything

For nearly half a century Genesis Breyer P-Orridge has been questioning the meaning and substance of identity through artistic endeavors, willful reincarnation, and physical shapeshifting. Try to Altar Everything, a selection of paintings, sculptures, and installations, will explore the ways that Hindu mythology and Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley have influenced the artist and h/er work. About the Speaker

Linda Sweet has represented museums and other cultural institutions since joining Management Consultants for the Arts, Inc. as a partner in 1984. She specializes in executive searches for directors and other top management and professional personnel as well as in strategic planning, board development, and organizational analysis. Sweet began her museum career as an educator at the Brooklyn Museum and was dean of the department of public education at the MFA, Boston. Sweet is a graduate of Barnard College, of which she is now a trustee, and she received a Master’s degree from New York University. She is also a board member of the Greater Hudson Heritage Network. She is delighted to be a docent at the Rubin Museum as her career comes full circle.
