Math and Mandalas

Mandalas are geometric representations of celestial palaces and play an important role in the art of Himalayan Asia. This professional development workshop for K-12 teachers explores mandalas through gallery conversations, movement activities, and art-making. Participants will learn how the mandala’s symmetry and balance can integrate math and the arts learning, will discover connections to Common Core State Standards, and will take away valuable resources and information for their classroom practice.
