Hip-hop artist and yoga teacher MC YOGI presents a special concert, co-presented with NY Yoga + Life. MC YOGI will perform songs from his album Only Love Is Real and his #1 electronic music album, Ritual Mystical. After the concert, he will sign copies of his new book, Spiritual Graffiti: Finding My True Path.

About the Performers

From living in a group home for at-risk youth to becoming known as one of yoga’s modern-day ambassador to the West, hiphop artist, MC YOGI is on a mission to introduce yoga to large, mainstream audiences.

His latest album, Ritual Mystical (featuring East Forest), reached #1 on the electronic charts in August 2016. In 2015, his album Only Love Is Real, featuring guest performances from Matisyahu, Trevor Hall, and Dominic Balli, debuted at #12 Billboard Heatseekers and at #24 iTunes Hiphop.

In 2011, MC YOGI and his wife, Amanda were named ambassadors by Michelle Obama for her “Let’s Move” initiative, and they have taught yoga at the White House four times since. Additionally they have performed and taught yoga at Stanford University, The Smithsonian, San Francisco Asian Art Museum, and Dallas Asian Art Museum.

 

DJ Drez is a producer, musical director, and “sound ambassador.” A master of his craft in the studio and on stage, Drez cuts and composes original tracks that facilitate body movement practice of all forms, from dance to yoga.Rooted in underground L.A. hip-hop, Dr. EZ applies precise turn-table skills to a cutting-edge vision for universal music, integrating elements of hip-hop, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, and other music from around the world into his trademark sound.

Drez has worked with a who’s who of top artists, including:Blackstar, KRS 1, Black Eyed Peas, Macy Gray, Eminem, and Project Blowed, as well as organizations such as Adidas, X Games, ABC, and Okay Player. He has also toured with Moby, Ziggy Marley, Common, Femi Kuti, De La Soul, Capleton, Nas, and Lee Scratch Perry.
