Parenting Patterns and Reconstructive Memory
Making Way for Mindful Discipline
Sunday, March 11, 2018
11:00 AM–12:30 PM
What is mindfulness, and how can it support family life? Learn how to apply tenets of mindfulness in everyday family interactions. This third of four sessions focuses on understanding the patterns of behavior that inform parents’ reactions. Practice reconstructing your parenting style and developing a more compassionate approach to disciplining your child.
Each session of this series combines teaching with working periods that can be applied to everyday family life. As a cumulative series, subsequent Mindfulness for Families sessions will build upon previous ones while providing accessible entry points for newcomers and single-session attendees.
This program is designed for children ages three to seven with accompanying adult(s).
Family Programs are supported by Agnes Gund and public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
