The Journey Within

With Radhanath Swami

Saturday, May 7, 2016
5:30 PM–7:00 PM
Sold Out

Acclaimed teacher of India’s Bhakti-yoga tradition, Radhanath Swami shares the wisdom from his forthcoming book The Journey Within. Drawing from his study of revered sacred texts of India, such as the Bhagavad-gita and the Ramayana, and several decades of intense meditation practice, Radhanath Swami approaches universal questions with compassion and grace. His teaching aims to reveal spiritual practice expressed as tangible action—simultaneously meant to bring about personal fulfillment and benefit the world.

International yoga figure and social activist, Dana Flynn joins him in a conversation on how to live spiritually through yoga in an increasingly materialistic and impersonal world.
The Journey Within by Radhanath Swami will be available in stores on May 17. Discounted pre-orders will be available at the program.

About the Speakers

Radhanath Swami is a renowned teacher, author, public speaker, social activist, and a saint in India’s venerable Krishna-bhakti lineage. Born and raised in Chicago, in his teens he came to confront a deep sense of alienation from suburban life and the civil injustices of mid-century America. At the age of nineteen, his internal struggles led him on a search for God. Hitchhiking from Europe to India, his journey culminated in an intimate study with the some of the most honored gurus and spiritual leaders in India. He documents this odyssey in The Journey Home, a memoir of his search for spiritual truth.

Today Radhanath Swami travels regularly throughout the world, sharing the teachings of Bhakti-yoga. He directs and inspires a number of social action projects including hunger eradication, schools and ashrams, eco-friendly farms, hospitals and eye camps, and a number of emergency relief programs throughout India.
