The Secret World of Tantra

There’s more to Tantra than you might think! Join us for a special tour series to illuminate the esoteric rituals of Tantra, which its practitioners believed would provide a faster path to enlightenment. Explore the iconography and symbols in Tantric artwork and how they relate to the practice of achieving Buddhahood in one lifetime.

Tess Sholom has been a Docent at the Rubin Museum since 2007. A retired jewelry designer, she owned a business designing high-fashion costume jewelry, pioneering this niche along with a few other designers in the 1980s in New York City. She also founded a group called the Fashion Accessories Designers Association (FADA). Her passion for jewelry and the arts shines through on her tours. As an educator and art lover, she enjoys exploring complex topics with visitors. Tantra is just a small part of what Tess has to share.
