Special Gallery Tours

Friday, August 4, 2017
8:00 PM–8:45 PM

Explore the connections between the town of Twin Peaks and the peaks of the Himalayas.

What does the town of Twin Peaks have to do with the peaks of the Himalayas? Why does Special Agent Dale Cooper feel connected to Tibet and its people? Featuring highlights from the Rubin Museum’s collection, this tour will explore Tibet’s connection to the mystery and mysticism of Twin Peaks. Referencing specific moments in the TV show, it will cover various topics such as traditions of divination, Buddhism’s arrival to the Himalayas, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Careful though—there will be some spoilers!

Museum admission is free every Friday night from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. during K2 Friday Nights.
