If you would like a customized, guided tour of the galleries, the Rubin Museum’s knowledgeable, professional Guides are experienced in working with university audiences. If you see an educational connection between Himalayan art and your classroom curriculum, or simply want to organize a group tour, please fill out the University Group Visit Reservation Form.

Guided Tour Details

  • 60 minutes long
  • Museum admission fees apply

  • $65 per tour group: 20 attendee maximum
  • $50 per tour group for University Partners: 20 attendee maximum
  • We invite you and your students to continue to explore the galleries after your tour.

Tour Availability

The Rubin Museum offers university guided tours beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.

For information about the status of your tour request, e-mail Tour reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Group menus are available from Café Serai. Please review our Group Visit Guidelines prior to your scheduled visit.

University Self-Guided Visits

If you would like to explore the museum on your own with your class we require a reservation for a self-guided visit in order adequately support your needs. To schedule a self-guided visit, please fill out the University Group Visit Reservation Form. For the 2017-2018 academic year students from Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York University, St. Francis College, and The New School have free museum admission. All other program/tour rates apply.

Dining at Café Serai

Join us for lunch at Café Serai! With advance notice, groups can reserve tables and arrange to have lunch awaiting your guests at the conclusion of your tour.
