William E. Mayer

William E. Mayer is the founder of Park Avenue Equity Partners, a private equity firm that invests in middle-market companies. Mr. Mayer worked for The First Boston Corporation (now Credit Suisse) for 23 years, holding numerous management positions, including President and Chief Executive Officer. From 1992 to 1996, he was a professor and Dean of the College of Business and Management at the University of Maryland. Under Mr. Mayer’s leadership, the institution was named one of the top 25 business schools in the country. He was also past Chairman of the Board of the University of Maryland, College Park. From 1991 to 1992, Mr. Mayer served as a professor and Dean of the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester. Currently, Mr. Mayer is a board member of BlackRock Kelso, Premier, Lee Enterprises, Columbia Group of Mutual Funds, Acumen, and the Atlantic Council. He served as Chairman of the Aspen Institute from 2000 to 2008 and currently on its Executive Committee. A former First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Mayer holds a BS and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
