Falu is a classically trained Indian vocalist whose diverse musical repertoire captures both her traditional roots as well as her unique ability in combining Hindi music with an inventive rock.
From Falu: “Our CD FALU was featured at Smithsonian’s “Beyond Bollywood” exhibit which explores how Indian culture has impacted the United States. We are so honored to have been featured (specifically for our song “Copper Can”), along with so many other greats. Check out the link to see pictures.”
Falu has served as an ambassador of Indian music from Carnegie Hall, and her live performances have been featured nationally on FOX TV and internationally on National Geographic TV. Her voice has also been captured in multiple films, including Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut A Place in Time. One of Falu’s most stunning performances was at the Time 100 Gala where she was invited to perform a duet with Slumdog Millionaire composer A.R. Rahman in front of Time Magazine’s most influential people in the world of 2008, which not surprisingly included First Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey. Falu was also invited to perform at the White House in November of 2009, where she sang alongside A.R. Rahman again at President Obama’s first State Dinner in honor of the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Classically-trained Indian vocalist Falu is back by popular demand, fusing her Hindi music roots with an inventive rock sound. After performing a duet with Slumdog Millionaire composer A.R. Rahman, Falu performed at the White House, and her music has just been featuerd in at the Smithsonian Museum’s Beyond Bollywood exhibition.
