Every day, visitors take dozens of photos in the Museum. Although there are a few restrictions on flash photography and selfie sticks, we encourage visitors to take as many photos as they want and share them on social media afterwards.

Once a week, our social media team browses the Instagram posts we’ve been tagged in (@rubinmuseum) and declares the most eye-catching photo our #InstagramoftheWeek. The winner gets awarded two free admission tickets to the Rubin—you could be next!

Our visitors never cease to impress us with their creative flair and photography skills! Here are our #InstagramoftheWeek winners from January:

Last month, we worked with the International Center of Photography (@ICP) to host the #McCurryIndia Instagram Challenge. Inspired by photographs from our latest exhibition, Steve McCurry: India, Instagrammers from all over the world shared travel photos, portraits, and beautiful fleeting moments from everyday life. After receiving and reviewing more than 200 photo submissions, we are proud to announce the contest winner and our two runner-ups.

Third Place

Second Place

Last but not least”¦ First Place

Congratulations to the three winners and a big thank you to all participants of the challenge!
