Exploration and Adventure Tour

Sunday, June 24, 2018
12:00 PM–1:00 PM

“In the snow of far-off northern lands, and in sunny tropic scenes, you will always find us on the job.” (Marines Hymn, 2nd Stanza). The Himalayas stretch across multiple countries and cultures, much like U.S. military service members who are often stationed in remote areas of the world. Take an adventure with us to explore artwork from this far-off region. Learn more about how exploration through the Himalayas encouraged cross-cultural exchange and the spread of religious beliefs.

About Blue Star Tours

Blue Star Museums offers free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. As a proud participant, the Rubin Museum of Art welcomes these families to join us for a series of special tours on select Sundays this summer. Each tour creates an engaging experience in the galleries, focusing on uplifting themes that build connections between Himalayan art and military life.
