April Family Sundays: Layers of the Land

History has always inspired art—and now your family’s personal history can too! In this hands-on workshop, families will tell their own stories through layers of paper cutouts that represent parts of their lives. Inspired by the Rubin Museum exhibition Faith and Empire—which highlights the intersection of history and culture in the Himalayas—we invite you to construct your own symbolic mirror of the world around you while transforming 2D materials into a 3D tunnel book.

Family Sundays are made possible by New York Life. Additional support has been provided by Agnes Gund, Con Edison, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
