Open House New York

Celebrate Open House New York with a special virtual tour through the Rubin Museum’s architectural past, present, and future. The tour will cover the many lives of the building at 150 West 17th Street: its beginnings as tenement housing, its famous stint as Barney’s department store, and its present iteration as a home for Himalayan art and culture. Using visuals, blueprints, and historical records, we’ll explore the conversation between the Museum’s architecture and art, as well as how powerful sacred symbols and designs are woven throughout the Museum.
