Today is the fifth day of Asia Week New York. This annual festival is a collaboration between top-tier Asian art specialists, major auction houses, and world-renowned museums and Asian cultural institutions in the New York metropolitan area. The Asia Week New York Association concentrates its efforts on presenting one non-stop, event-filled week in March of every year, drawing collectors and curators from every corner of the United States and an international clientele from across the globe.
You can take part in Asia Week by joining us for our 2015 Asia Week Celebration this Thursday, March 19. This occasion will help commemorate the start of the Rubin Museum’s second decade and the opening of our newest exhibition “Becoming Another: The Power of Masks.” It promises to be a fun night filled with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a special performance by aerialists from Shore Circus, called Rope of Light! The Rubin isn’t the only place to celebrate Asian Art and Culture during Asia Week. There are many other institutions hosting Asian Art”“themed events, including the Newark Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, Asia Society, Japan Society, Sotheby’s, Christie’s and many more. Check out the Asia Week Website for the entire event line-up and start celebrating!
