Brent Arnold and Aditya Kalyanpur
Electroacoustic Cello & Tabla
Friday, April 6, 2018
7:00 PM–8:30 PM
Cellist/composer Brent Arnold and tabla master Aditya Kalyanpur collaborate to create music that blends acoustic sound with subtle electronic manipulation.
Kalyanpur’s virtuosic tabla playing can give a few scattered notes a powerful, propulsive weight, or unleash volcanic layers of rhythm. Arnold’s polyglot music moves far beyond the classical, using live electronic processing of the cello to create layered, orchestral weight or otherworldly effects. Their compositions juxtapose the tight interplay of Indian classical music with a cinematic sense of space.
Presented with Harrice Miller Entertainment.
