Color Your Mantra with Sonam Rinzin

Watch painter Sonam Rinzin create artwork live in the Spiral Lobby before making some art of your own. Choose and fill in your own “coloring book mantra” using templates designed by Rinzin (all materials provided).

About the artist

Sonam Rinzin is a classically trained painter in the Himalayan Tibetan Thangka style. He studied Thangka art painting for over 12 years in Kathmandu, Nepal, and in his own region of Mustang, Nepal. Sonam has received numerous mural and painting commissions in Nepal and New York City. His painting Four-Arm Cherezig (Avalokiteshvara) is the largest Thangka painting in Mustang. The painting is widely admired for its narrative complexity, beauty of execution, and detailed drawing. Sonam is also an accomplished musician. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
