Mind Over Matter Trivia:
– The actors blacktopped close to a mile of actual road in the road-tarring scene.
– Bette Davis was originally offered the part of Luke’s mother but refused the small role.
– Jack Lemmon was originally chosen to play the part of Luke, however, after reading the script he thought the role was better suited for Paul Newman. Lemmon then went on to become a producer of the film.
