Mind Over Matter Trivia:
– Early on in production Terrence Malick decided to discard of the original script let the actors discover the story as production continued.
– Both Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman were offered the role of Bill.
– To achieve the scene where locusts fly into the sky, a helicopter crew threw peanut shells out of the helicopter while the actors walked backwards. The shot was then reversed for the final cut of the film.
