Diagnosis: Women's Health

Fertility, reproductive and hormonal health are the specialty of Dr. Mira Weil and in this demonstration with volunteers she diagnoses health issues particular to women (from UTIs to post-menopausal libido) from the perspective of a Tibetan medical practitioner. About the Speaker
After studies as a herbalist and massage therapist, Mira Weil graduated at the top of her class after four and a half years of full time study with Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo at the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine. The program culminated in a 3 month clinical internship in Ziling, Amdo, Tibet, where she was able to study closely with some of the foremost doctors and teachers in the field as well as with Dr. Kalsang Wangyal in Berkeley. She continues to travel to Asia as often as possible to study with senior doctors, and in November of 2012 was able to attend the 2nd International Conference of Tibetan Medicine in Dharamsala, India, where she co-presented a paper on Tibetan medicine in the United States. In 2011 Mira opened a private practice in Northampton, MA Nying Je Traditional Tibetan Medicine & Bodywork where she is also in training to be a Fertility Awareness Educator and Reproductive Health Counselor.
