Diego Campo + Tony Lannen

Spiral Music

Wednesday, September 6, 2017
6:00 PM–9:00 PM

Spiral Music presents acoustic music every Wednesday evening at the base of the Museum’s spiral staircase. Artists who specialize in music from the Himalayas and South Asia are invited to forge a connection between their music and the art in the galleries.

About the Musicians

Diego Campo studied classical and flamenco guitar at an early age, under Spain’s master El Entri, and continued his studies with jazz musician Richie Hart. Campo is a regular Spiral Music performer and has previously appeared with guests Marina Alam and Rigdzin Collins.

This fall Diego Campo is releasing a new album displaying a beautiful synthesis of gypsy manouche guitar with jazz/swing compositions, tied together with his flamenco technique.

Tony Lannen has played drums, upright bass, and electric bass since childhood. He attended the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City, where he studied with legendary bassist Bob Cranshaw. Currently he is finishing his Master’s degree at Rutgers University in Jazz History and Research with a thesis on Mr. Cranshaw’s career.
