Empowering Caregivers

Mindful Tours, Conversation, and Community

Wednesday, December 4, 2019
6:00 PM–7:30 PM

Caregiving for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or dementia can leave you feeling powerless, faced with constant responsibilities and limited personal freedom. Even professional caregivers experience stress and burnout. How can you find empowerment amid these challenges?

At this program designed specifically for caregivers, we invite participants to examine the power dynamics in their lives and open their minds to a different understanding of their own agency. The program begins with a tour and conversation in the Rubin galleries, exploring how contemporary and traditional Buddhist artworks can show new perspectives and pathways to empowerment.

The tour is followed by a gathering in the Rubin’s Café Serai, where you can enjoy complimentary tea and refreshments plus lively conversation that will shift your focus from daily stress and help build a community of caregivers.

This event is intended for caregivers and not for persons with dementia.
