Family Sundays - Cancelled for 1.9.2022

Coloring Outside the Lions

Sunday, January 9, 2022
1:00 PM–3:00 PM

Due to the current spike in COVID-19, Family Sundays: Coloring Outside the Lions has been suspended in January 2022. We hope to see you back for Family Sundays soon!

Ages 3 and older with accompanying adults

Proof of vaccination is required for visitors age 5 and up. View our Plan a Visit page for more details.

Family Sundays are in person at the Rubin! Bring your family to the Rubin Museum’s new space, the Mandala Lab, for an afternoon of creativity and self-exploration that both kids and grown-ups will enjoy.

Preregistration is required for either the 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM time slots. The program is free for your family, and each ticket comes with free access to the Museum galleries. Each month we explore a new theme, with an art-making activity centered around that theme. A Museum educator does a brief demonstration of the project, teaches the art-making techniques, and lets you explore ways to make the project your own.

January Family Sundays: Coloring Outside the Lions

How do you feel when someone else gets something you want? Angry that you can no longer have it? Sad that you will not get what you want? Many of these tricky emotions contribute to the feeling of envy. Learn how to manage these emotions by contributing to a group art project and explore how envy might motivate you to be a team player.
