Family Sundays

Drop-in Art Making

Ages 3 and up with accompanying adults.


Sundays are for families! Bring your family to the Museum for a Sunday afternoon full of family-friendly activities. Drop into the Education Center for some art-making, enjoy our 2 p.m. family exhibition tour, or go on your own thematic gallery search.

February Sundays: Lotus Flower Mosaics

(*Don’t forget 2/22 is Losar Family Day)

Lotus flowers are symbolic of purity of the body, speech, and mind in Buddhist art. Find out more by discovering lotus flowers in the artworks in the exhibition, The All-Knowing Buddha: A Secret Guide, then drop by the art studio to make your own lotus flower mosaic out of natural materials.

March Sundays: Super Sculpting

The sculptures in the exhibition, Masterworks: Jewels of the Collection, show us rare and rich artistic traditions from across Himalayan Asia. Discover sculptures made from a variety of materials like metal and clay on the Family Tour and drop by the art studio to make your own sculpture.

$5 per child; Adults pay regular admission; Free to children under 1 year and Free for Cool Culture.


Tickets may be purchased day of at the Museum admissions desk and starting at 1pm at the Education Center. Please call in advance if you are interested in bringing a group of 10 or more.
