One of Britain’s most popular fantasy authors, Graham Joyce, explores his own dream life and that of his characters with dream specialist Kelly Bulkeley.

Graham Joyce is a British author with a PhD in English literature. He is an O Henry award winner for his story An Ordinary Soldier Of The Queen and his novels include The Facts of Life, which won the 2003 World Fantasy Award, Smoking Poppy and The Tooth Fairy. His first novel Dreamside dealt with the subject of Lucid Dreaming. He is a five-time recipient of the British Fantasy Award and twice winner of the French Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire. Graham also teaches writing at Nottingham Trent University. His latest book, The Silent Land, is set to be published in March 2011.

Kelly Bulkeley, PhD, is a Visiting Scholar at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. He earned a doctorate in Religion and Psychological Studies from the University of Chicago Divinity School, an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School, and a B.A. from Stanford University. A former president of the International Association for the Study of Dreams, he has written and edited several books on dream research. His most recent works are Dreaming in the World’s Religions: A Comparative History (New York University Press, 2008), American Dreamers: What Dreams Tell Us about the Political Psychology of Conservatives, Liberals, and Everyone Else (Beacon Press, 2008), and Dreaming in Christianity and Islam: Culture, Conflict, and Creativity, co-edited with Kate Adams and Patricia M. Davis (Rutgers University Press, 2009).
