Graham Parker was one of the most successful singer/songwriters to emerge from England’s pub rock scene of the early ’70s. As Graham Parker & the Rumour he brought out successful albums such as Howlin’ Wind, Heat Treatment, and Squeezing Out Sparks. His song “Wake Up (Next to You)” from the album Steady Nerves was a Top 40 hit in 1985. Parker has since moved into singer/songwriter territory – evidenced by the albums Deepcut to Nowhere and Your Country (Bloodshot Records).
SACRED AND PROFANE: where spirituality and sacrilege rub shoulders and get on very well. Yes, the prospect of this totally unplugged gig in the most unusual setting has me digging deep for material that even the GP stalwarts will be delighted with. Or confused. The thematic opportunities have blown my mind. This will be a real one of a kind!
