Opening Night Celebration

Shrine Room Projects: Rohini Devasher / Palden Weinreb

Friday, November 12, 2021
6:00 PM–10:00 PM

Celebrate the opening of Shrine Room Projects: Rohini Devasher / Palden Weinreb with a special Friday night at the Rubin, featuring free admission, a DJ set, dancing, and drinks at Café Serai.

Shrine Room Projects is an exhibition series that features contemporary artists who reinterpret traditional and religious iconography. This juxtaposition allows visitors to reflect on the themes and symbols emanating from the Rubin’s Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room. In this iteration, Rohini Devasher presents a new two-channel video, and Palden Weinreb presents two mixed-media artworks that invite contemplation on the boundaries of human perception and our place in this earthly realm

PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT.

To attend this free event, visitors must show 1) proof of vaccination and 2) a valid ID.

The Shrine Room is supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation, Namita and Arun Saraf, and by generous donations from the Museum’s Board of Trustees, individual donors, and members.
