Spiral Music presents acoustic music every Wednesday evening at the base of the Museum’s spiral staircase. Artists who specialize in music from the Himalayas and South Asia are invited to forge a connection between their music and the art in the galleries.

About the Musicians

Raj Kapoor (madal) serves as the music and dance director of Dance Theater of Nepal. He performs and teaches in many organizations and institutions throughout New York and the United States as well as in national and international folk arts festivals. He is an expert on all Eastern drums and mentors a variety of age groups in Nepali folk and film-style dance forms.

Ranjan Budhathoki (flute) is a highly-accomplished Nepali artist-musician and dancer. He has performed with Dance Theater of Nepal for over two decades. He currently lives in Boston where he works toward the preservation of Nepali arts and culture as a founding member of the Susheli Cultural Group. Budhathoki is also a founder of the new Himalayan Heritage Cultural Academy, where he serves as an instructor of Nepali dance and music for students of all ages.
