Richard X Bennett and RXB5

Composer and pianist Richard X Bennett returns to the Rubin Museum with his quintet of irreverent improvisors, RXB5. The concert also celebrates the release of his new piano and electronics album Away From The Many. The musicians will play original compositions that are informed by raga and gamelan.

About the Musician

Richard X Bennett has been playing and composing Indian-influenced music for the past ten years, creating a unique and soulful blend of jazz piano with raga.

RXB5 has been described as “unabashedly joyous, groove-centric, and spiritually danceable” (New York City Jazz Record) and “hypnotic” (John Schaefer, WNYC).
