Explorer, author and photographer Jon Ortner has retraced the journeys of holy men and shamans for two decades, travelling thousands of miles through Asia’s awe-inspiring topography. Ortner, having received rare permissions, was allowed access to religious sites and rituals few westerners have seen. The compelling factual and mythological narratives that accompany these haunting photographs trace the evolution of Hinduism and Buddhism and provide a unique insight into the many varied cultures of the region.
