For visitors 65 and older
Monday, May 6, 2019
11:00 AM–5:00 PM
On the first Monday of the month, seniors (65 and older) receive free admission to the galleries. The day features a range of free programs.
Senior Monday Meditation: 11:30 AM—12:30 PM
Let the artwork in our galleries inspire thoughtfulness and focus in your meditation practice. Join us for a gallery tour followed by a guided meditation in our theater designed specifically for seniors as part of our Senior Monday programming, when adults 65 and older receive free admission to the galleries. Artwork and themes will alternate each month.
The program includes a 15-minute tour in the galleries followed by a 45-minute guided meditation in our theater. Meditators at all skill levels are welcome. Chairs will be provided. Late comers may not be admitted after 12:00 PM, in order to prevent disruption during the sitting session.
Free for seniors. Limited capacity, check in at the front desk for a ticket.
Senior Writing Workshop: 2:00—4:00 PM
Develop your creative writing skills with our Senior Writing Workshop!
We will make connections with the art in the galleries through lively group discussion and creative writing exercises. The program meets at the base of the spiral staircase in the Museum’s entrance hall for a talk and exploration in the galleries, followed by a writing workshop in our Education Center.
Groups of 10 or more (up to 15) can pay a discounted per person rate for a private Museum tour on Senior Mondays. For more information, fill out the “Book a Tour” form.
