Sonic Stress Relief for Members

Virtual Experience

Monday, May 17, 2021
6:30 PM–7:30 PM

Rubin Museum members are invited to join sound therapist Maraliz Campos for a special evening of self-care in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month this May.

Maraliz will guide your body, heart, and mind to unlock deep states of rest using breathwork, sound, meditation, and cognitive reprogramming practices, all leaving you with lasting peace. We’ll dive into evidence-based techniques to rejuvenate your nervous system and bring about comforting bliss.

Be prepared for a profound sonic experience, all while you rest in the comfort of your own home. Dress comfortably, prepare a place to lie down, and keep a blanket or some tea nearby for extra relaxation!

Maraliz Campos (DJ ikåtu) is a Paraguayan American sound artist who has turned extreme chronic pain into a muse. As a sound practitioner and wellness guide, she challenges widely accepted industry narratives. Vice Tonic applauded her Rational Wellness work as steering the industry toward increased diversity, and Wanderlust named her 35 Under 35 in Wellness to Watch for her pioneering soundscapes. She is the creator of Sonic Wellness, a unique sound meditation technique combining ASMR, vocal looping, unique sonic textures, and live instruments.

Maraliz is a certified sound practitioner, meditation facilitator, DJ, and sound designer. Her workshops, sensory events, original recordings, and teacher trainings occur across the United States, and her articles can be found on wellness blogs including Huffpost Thrive, Alchemist’s Kitchen, and more.
