Exhibition Opening: The World Is Sound
Celebrate the Opening Night at K2 Friday Night
Friday, June 16, 2017
6:00 PM–10:00 PM
Be one of the first people to experience the museum-wide exhibition The World Is Sound, with a free celebration open to the public as part of our ongoing K2 Friday Nights. The exhibition questions how sound and our sense of hearing shape our daily lives, our traditions, our history, and all of existence. Featuring work by more than 20 artists, The World Is Sound juxtaposes new site-specific commissions and works by prominent contemporary sound artists with historical objects from the museum’s collection of Tibetan Buddhist art to encourage reflection on how we listen and to challenge entrenched ways of thinking.
Opening night will include an introduction by the curator, opportunities to encounter artists featured in the exhibition, cocktail specials for purchase in the K2 Lounge, and free admission to the museum from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Happy Hour runs 6:00″“7:00 p.m. with a two-for-one special on select beer, wine, and well drinks.
