Walk With Me

Special Film Screening

Wednesday, September 26, 2018
7:00 PM–8:40 PM

2017, Max Pugh and Marc J. Francis, UK, 88 min.

“Mindfulness is to always arrive in the here and now”

—Thich Nhat Hanh

Immerse yourself in the monastic life of Plum Village, a community founded by spiritual leader Thich Nhat Hanh. Filmed in France, New York, Mississippi, and California, Walk With Me observes the daily minutiae and meditation of people who have chosen to devote their lives to spirituality. This unique film, which premiered at the Rubin last year, is not necessarily about a destination or a lesson in peaceful living. Instead, it emphasizes a moment in time that acknowledges the impermanence of life and the temporal beauty of nature. This is symbolized in the walking meditation that opens the film.

About Plum Village

Plum Village is an international Buddhist center in southwest France, founded in 1982 by Thich Nhat Hanh. The village consists of four hamlets that cultivate the awakening of consciousness. Besides being a monastery, Plum Village offers retreats and meditation programs for people from all over the world.
