ABOUT THE ARTWORK IN REIMAGINE

YESHE will perform Forbidden Songs at the Rubin in conjunction with Reimagine: Himalayan Art Now later this year. In the performance work, YESHE will sing songs that are forbidden in Tibet. Singers and artists in Tibet are still being imprisoned for singing the songs of identity, social justice, displacement, anxiety, freedom, and hope about the future and what it means to belong.
