About the DJ

Based in New York City by way of Sydney, Australia, Ankia has been a DJ for over 13 years. Her love for music is evident in the story of her career; in addition to being a DJ Ankia spent half a decade as a radio host of her own radio show on one of Sydney’s top independent radio stations, as well as racking up over 10 years of experience in the record industry.

As a full-time DJ, Ankia curates the soundtrack to many of New York City’s hottest clubs and has amassed a growing list of corporate and private clients. She has spun alongside such acclaimed artists as Just Blaze, DJ Scratch, Evil Dee, Boogie Blind, Deborah Cox, Rashad Smith, and Stretch Armstrong.

Ankia seamlessly and creatively mixes an array of genres—from hip hop and classics to house, dancehall, R&B, rock, and today’s latest hits. Adept at reading a crowd and getting a party jumping, she has played and held residencies everywhere from high-end boutique lounges such as W Hotels to downtown and Brooklyn hotspots such as Mr. Purple, The Blond, Public Hotel, Max Fish, Union Pool, and Kinfolk.

Museum admission is free every Friday night from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. during K2 Friday Nights.
