Introduction by Kevin Allison

Based on the novel of the same name written by KÅbÅ Abe, the story follows an engineer, Okuyama, whose face is severely burnt in an unspecified work-related accident and is given a new face in the form of a lifelike mask.

The Face of Another is undeniably a classic of 1960s cinema”¦ It is a great-looking, highly intelligent and unique piece of work that admirably encapsulates the progressive spirit of the times.” ““ Jasper Sharp, Midnight Eye
