About the Introducer:

Peter Mende-Siedlecki is a post-doctoral researcher in the Psychology Department at NYU, working in the lab of Dr. Jay Van Bavel. Peter received a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University in 2007, and later, a PhD in Psychology from Princeton University in 2014, working primarily with Dr. Alex Todorov. Peter’s work uses methods from cognitive neuroscience and social psychology to examine how we learn about and come to know other people, as well as how these processes are shaped by both social factors (e.g., the groups we belong to) and perceptual influences (e.g., facial characteristics).
