Melissa Ferrick

Naked Soul

Friday, May 20, 2016
7:00 PM–8:30 PM
Cancelled

Melissa Ferrick’s twelfth original album is a homecoming. She has arrived in a place musically that is both familiar and new. The self-titled album is, in many ways, a new beginning for Ferrick. Written in just over a year, recorded at home, and released on her own relaunched label, Right On Records, the acoustic album is simple, eloquent, and honest with an undeniable level of maturity. For long-time fans, this will be a welcome new arrival. For those who are just discovering Ferrick, this is a superb way to be introduced. A completely solo effort in its process, creation, and release, Ferrick is marking the middle of her career with a perfect return to songwriting and herself.

About Naked Soul

Naked Soul presents performances from some of the country’s top singer/songwriters without microphones or amplifiers, as if the music were, acoustically speaking, naked. The musicians in the series draw upon the universal themes inherent in Himalayan art—spirituality, peace, tolerance, wisdom, compassion—on select Friday evenings. Learn More
