Mindfulness for Families

Practicing mindfulness promotes better interpersonal communication skills, self-regulation of emotions, and conflict resolution—all of which support family life.

Mindfulness meditation and yoga teacher Archimedes Bibiano equips you with practical tools to bring more awareness and compassion to your family dynamics. Play Attentionâ„¢ to your surroundings and delve into mindful movement by getting creative with your body at this workshop.

This program is designed for children ages three to seven with accompanying adult(s).

About the Instructor

Archimedes Bibiano is a Mindfulness Meditation and Adaptive Yoga Teacher certified by Mindful Life Yoga and an associate with The Awareness Training Institute and Greater Good Science Center at the University of California at Berkeley.

Since 2004, Bibiano has been working with pediatric patients in the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, teaching meditation and yoga to children and their families, as well as to nurses, physicians, and clinical researchers, and more recently, teaching to medical students and interns with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. In addition, he regularly teaches an 8-week course titled “Take Time to Meditate,” offered to all Mount Sinai Health System employees. His work with educators, health care providers, and scientists has allowed multicultural groups to efficiently build a shared ground of experiential knowledge, introducing a fresh approach to the development of mindful leadership and interpersonal communication skills through the study and practice of mindfulness meditation.
