Student Artists on their Journey

Friday, May 26, 2017
7:00 PM–9:00 PM

We want to know where you are in your personal journey. Tell us in your own words!

Join other students and emerging artists on a journey following the Buddha’s path to enlightenment in a night of music, poetry, and discovery. Register and send us your song, poem, or story to be a part of our first ever-open mic night. If you would like to attend this program as a guest, pick up free tickets at the front desk on Friday, May 26 beginning at 6:30 PM. Space is limited and tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Open to all college and graduate students, as well as recent graduates.

About the MC

Christopher Lilley, a New York native, is a poet, spoken word artist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and teaching artist.

Chris has had the privilege of collaborating with Jasmine Mans and Rudy Fransisco, and has performed in notable spaces such as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and the Bowery Poetry Club, as well as other venues across the country. The recipient of a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, he seeks to fuse music and poetry to inspire community dialogues on topics that have been labeled as taboo or shameful, with a focus on bringing mental health awareness to marginalized communities.

Registration is now closed.

There will be no drop-in for this program. For more information, please email Programming1@rubinmuseum.org
