Spiral Music

Wednesday, October 5, 2016
6:00 PM–9:00 PM

Spiral Music presents acoustic music every Wednesday evening at the base of the Museum’s spiral staircase. Artists who specialize in music from the Himalayas and South Asia are invited to forge a connection between their music and the art in the galleries.

About the Musicians

Tenzin Nyenden (flute) developed his love of music at an early age as one of the youngest students to enroll in the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA). As a part of TIPA he toured the world and in 1995 became a junior artist. He has taught Tibetan music, dance, and opera for Tibetan Children’s Village Home, Sujat, and various Tibetan settlement camps in India and the United States. In addition to teaching, he continues to perform, including at venues such as Emory University and the Richmond Folk Festival.
