Can envy and jealousy lead to societal collapse? Comedian and deliverer of sharp political commentary Janeane Garofalo reflects on envy in her realm as a performer and in the wider socio-political environment of our day, and even as a dog-walker. Dr. Kevin Ochsner brings his research on emotion to recognize how we can become more self-aware, and less self-conscious.

This talk is part of the Rubin Museum’s 2022 “Brainwave: Emotions” program series. Based on the teachings of the Vairochana Mandala which inspired the Rubin Museum’s Mandala Lab, the “Brainwave: Emotions” talk series focuses on challenging emotions and how we might transform them.
