This week’s meditation session is led by Elaine Retholtz and the theme is Gratitude. The guided meditation begins at 12:37.
This is a powerful portrait of the Tenth Shamarpa, Mipam Chodrup Gyatso, who lived from 1742 until 1792. He wears the red hat that is associated with his incarnation lineage and holds a vajra and bell in front of his chest. Additional ritual implements are carefully laid out on the table in front of him. Above the teacher is a small image of the red Buddha Amitabha above a bank of clouds. In the foreground a kneeling monk holds a plate representing an offering of the universe. This encapsulates expressing gratitude.
