Manjushri is one of the most represented figures in Tibetan art. He is both a tantric bodhisattva and a deity associated with wisdom. Manjushri is revered in all Tibetan Buddhist traditions. He embodies the wisdom of all awakened beings.
Although Manjushri’s name translates as “Gentle Glory,” he wields the sword of wisdom in his right hand. With the might of this sword he guides practitioners in separating truth from illusion. Reflecting on Manjushri enables practitioners to reflect on how to harness the wisdom of discernment.
