The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art’s collection of nearly 4,000 objects spans more than 1,500 years to the present day. Through ongoing research initiatives, exhibitions, scholarly publications, and collection sharing with other museums and institutions, the Rubin aims to steward, share, and promote its collection with the utmost care and integrity.
Long-term artwork loans to other institutions expand access to the Rubin collection, providing opportunities for more people to learn about and experience the art and cultures of the greater Himalayan region.
Through scholarly and provenance research initiatives, the Rubin devotes considerable resources to the ongoing investigation of all collection objects.
Our publications include scholarly studies on a range of topics as well as accessible explorations of Himalayan art from the Rubin and other institutions.
